This Privacy Policy outlines how Hongjie Chen ("we" or "us") collects and manages your personal data in connection with your use of the Mad Pigeons mobile application on the iOS platform. Our collection and processing of your information are conducted strictly to deliver gaming products and optimize your user experience.

1. How we collect your personal data

We gather, use, and process your personal data through a range of methods, with security as a priority.

1.1 Categories of personal data

  • Log data: IP address, time of access, and type of device used.
  • Device specifications: manufacturer, device model, operating system (iOS version), time zone settings, and language preferences.
  • Device identifiers: IDFA (Advertising Identifier), Google Ads ID, Google Device ID, Game Center ID, and Google Play account ID.
  • Usage statistics: game progress, scoring history, achievements, and interaction logs with other players.
  • Commercial details: transaction history, usage records, configuration preferences, and logs of in-game virtual items.

1.2 Third-party sources

If you log in through third-party platforms such as Apple Game Center, we retrieve relevant profile information (for example, display name and profile details) in accordance with their authorization protocols and your consent.

By logging in through a third-party platform, you represent that you comply with that platform's terms and meet any applicable minimum age requirements.

2. How we use the collected information

  1. Service provision & support: to process orders, address inquiries, deliver game services, personalize your experience, and send notifications, technical updates, privacy alerts, and support messages. Legal basis: GDPR Article 6(1)(b).
  2. Marketing & improvement: to inform you about Hongjie Chen news or third-party offers based on your preferences; to analyze operational data for product development; and to enhance content, support, and software. Legal basis: GDPR Article 6(1)(f) (legitimate interest).
  3. Targeted advertising: to deliver personalized ads and promotions to users who have consented to share advertising identifiers. Legal basis: GDPR Article 6(1)(f) (legitimate interest).

3. Data retention period

We retain information only as long as necessary to provide services, satisfy legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce rights. Portions of data may be retained for technical or legal requirements or to ensure service security and integrity. Usage data is generally retained for a shorter period for internal analysis unless needed for security, functionality improvements, or legal requirements.

In accordance with GDPR Articles 6(1)(b), 6(1)(c), and 6(1)(f), we may share or disclose information under these conditions:

5. Protection of children's information

Mad Pigeons is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that such data has been collected, we will delete it. Parents or guardians should contact us if they believe a child has provided information.

6. Information security measures

We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect your data. No transmission or storage method is 100% secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

7. Push notification services

With your consent, we send game updates, promotions, and alerts to your iOS device. You can revoke permission at any time in your device settings.

8. Your rights

8.1 Rights of residents in the European Economic Area (EEA)

We respond to requests within one month. Complex requests may require an extension of up to two additional months, and we will notify you if so.

  • Right to access (GDPR Art. 15): purposes, categories, recipients, storage duration, and a copy of the data (subject to IP and trade secret protections).
  • Right to object (GDPR Art. 21): object to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing; we will stop unless we have compelling legitimate grounds or legal necessity.

8.2 Rights of residents of California

  • Response timeline: we respond to verifiable requests within 45 days, with a possible 45-day extension.
  • Disclosure scope: we cover the 12-month period prior to the request. If a request cannot be fulfilled, we will explain why and provide responses in a usable format.
  • Right to opt-out: you may direct us to stop selling personal information.
  • Right to know: our collection categories and purposes are listed in this policy (updated at least annually).
  • Right to request disclosure: categories and sources, purposes, recipients, and specific pieces of personal information. You may request a free copy up to twice per year.
  • Right to request deletion: data collected in the past 12 months, unless retention is required for security, legal obligations, or internal operations aligned with consumer expectations.
